Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati – Transfer to Shillong

• Arrive at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station.

• Visit the sacred Maa Kamakhya Temple on Nilachal Hills – one of the 51 Shakti Peethas and a revered center of Tantric worship in India.

• Later, drive towards Shillong (approx. 3–4 hrs).

• En route, stop at the mesmerizing Umiam Lake (Barapani), surrounded by lush pine forests – a popular spot for photography and boating.

• Evening at leisure in Shillong.

• Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 2: Excursion to Cherrapunji – Return to Shillong

• After breakfast, proceed to Cherrapunji (Sohra), known as one of the wettest places on Earth.

• En route, visit Elephant Falls.

• Full-day sightseeing at Cherrapunji:

  • Mawkdok Dympep Valley Viewpoint.

  • Garden of Caves.

  • Wah Kaba Falls, Dainthlen Falls & Wei Sawdong Falls.

  • Arwah Cave (fossils & limestone formations).

  • Nohkalikai Falls – India’s tallest plunge waterfall.

  • Eco Park & Mawsmai Caves.

  • Seven Sisters Falls.

• Evening drive back to Shillong.

• Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 3: Shillong – Dawki – Mawlynnong Village – Shillong

• After breakfast, drive to Dawki, a border town along Bangladesh.

  • Enjoy boating on the crystal-clear Umngot River, where boats look like they are floating in the air.

• Continue to Mawlynnong Village, awarded as Asia’s Cleanest Village.

  • Visit the Living Root Bridge (Single Decker).

  • Explore the Balancing Rock.

  • Climb the Sky View Bamboo Tower (85 ft high) for panoramic views of the Indo-Bangladesh plains.

• On return, visit Shillong Peak, the highest point in Shillong offering a bird’s-eye view of the city.

• Evening back to Shillong.

• Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 4: Shillong – Laitlum Canyons – City Tour

• After breakfast, excursion to Laitlum Canyons, known as the Grand Canyon of the East, offering breathtaking views and endless green ridges.

• Later, explore Shillong city:

  • Ward’s Lake – perfect for garden walks & boating.

  • Shillong Golf Course – one of Asia’s largest natural golf courses.

  • Don Bosco Museum – showcasing Northeast’s culture & heritage.

  • St. Cathedral Church – an architectural gem.

• Evening free to shop and stroll at Police Bazaar, the heart of Shillong.

• Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 5: Shillong – Transfer to Kaziranga National Park

• After breakfast, check out and drive to Kaziranga National Park (approx. 6–7 hrs).

• Evening visit to Kaziranga National Orchid & Biodiversity Park:

  • Home to 500+ orchid species.

  • Rock Garden, Bamboo Park, Herbal Garden, Rice Museum, Butterfly Park & Folk Cultural Center.

• Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

Day 6: Kaziranga Safari & Kakochang Waterfall

• Early morning at 5:30 AM, enjoy Elephant Safari (at own expense) in the Bagori (Western) Range – famous for its One-Horned Rhinoceros sightings.

• Return to hotel for breakfast.

• Later, drive to Bokakhat to visit the scenic Kakochang Waterfalls, located amidst tea estates and forests.

• Afternoon, enjoy Jeep Safari (at own expense) in the Kohora (Central) Range of Kaziranga.

• Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

Day 7: Kaziranga – Departure from Guwahati

• After breakfast, drive back to Guwahati.

• En route, visit the Maha Mrityunjay Temple (Nagaon) – the world’s tallest Shiva Linga at 126 feet.

• Continue to Guwahati Airport / Railway Station for your onward journey.
