Itinerary

Day 1: Guwahati – Bhalukpong

• Arrive at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station.

• Visit the holy Maa Kamakhya Temple (if included via Guwahati arrival)
• Drive to Bhalukpong, the gateway to Arunachal Pradesh, known for its scenic beauty on the banks of the Jia Bharali River.

• Overnight stay in Bhalukpong.

Day 2: Bhalukpong – Dirang

• After breakfast, proceed towards Dirang, home to the Monpa tribes.

• En route visit:

  • Tippi Orchid Centre – famous for its variety of orchids.

  • Sessa Orchid Sanctuary – a biodiversity hotspot.

  • Lummum Waterfalls.

  • Nag Mandir.

• Evening free to relax.

• Overnight stay in Dirang.

Day 3: Dirang – Tawang

• After breakfast, drive to Tawang (11,500 ft).

• On the way, witness breathtaking landscapes and visit:

  • Sella Lake and cross the mighty Sella Pass (13,746 ft).

  • Jaswantgarh War Memorial, dedicated to the brave Jaswant Singh Rawat who fought against Chinese forces in 1962.

• Continue to Tawang.

• Overnight stay in Tawang.

Day 4: Tawang Sightseeing (Border Excursion)

• After breakfast, proceed for an excursion to the Indo-China Border (subject to permits & local vehicle hire).

• En route visit:

  • PTSo Lake, a beautiful high-altitude lake.

  • Sangetsar Lake (Madhuri Lake) – a stunning lake set amidst mountains.

• Return to Tawang.

• Overnight stay in Tawang.

Day 5: Tawang Local Sightseeing

• After breakfast, explore spiritual and cultural landmarks of Tawang:

  • Tawang Monastery (Gaden Namgyal Lhatse) – founded in 1680 and one of the largest monasteries in Asia.

  • Urgelling Monastery – birthplace of the Sixth Dalai Lama.

  • Giant Buddha Statue.

  • Khinmay Monastery.

• Evening: Attend the Light & Sound Show at Tawang War Memorial, dedicated to India’s martyrs.

• Overnight stay in Tawang.

Day 6: Tawang – Bomdila

• After breakfast, drive to Bomdila.

• En route visit:

  • The stunning Jung (Nuranang) Waterfalls.

  • Bomdila View Point.

  • Bomdila Monastery.

• Evening free for shopping at Bomdila Market.

• Overnight stay in Bomdila.

Day 7: Bomdila – Kaziranga National Park

• After breakfast, proceed to Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

• Check into the hotel and later visit Kaziranga National Orchid Park, featuring:

  • 500+ varieties of orchids.

  • Herbal plant gardens, rock garden, fruit & flower gardens.

  • Rice museum and fish pond.

  • Bamboo park with 54 rare species.

  • A cultural space showcasing local folk traditions.

• Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

Day 8: Kaziranga Safari – Guwahati Departure

• Early morning (5:30 AM) enjoy an Elephant Safari in the Bagori (Western) Range (at own expense).

• Return to hotel for breakfast.

• Later enjoy a Jeep Safari in the Kohora (Central) Range (at own expense).

• Drive to Guwahati Airport / Railway Station for onward journey.
