Mesmerizing Arunachal Tour

Day 1: Guwahati – Bhalukpong
  • Arrive at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station.

  • Visit the sacred Maa Kamakhya Temple on Nilachal Hills – one of the 108 Shakti Peethas and an important tantric site in India.

  • En route stop at Maha Mrityunjay Temple, Nagaon, which houses the world’s largest Shivalinga (126 ft tall).

  • Continue your drive to Bhalukpong.

  • Overnight stay at Bhalukpong.


Day 2: Bhalukpong – Dirang
  • After breakfast, drive towards Dirang, home to the Monpa tribes of Arunachal Pradesh.

  • En route visit:

    • Tippi Orchid Centre – famous for its wide variety of orchids.

    • Sessa Orchid Sanctuary – a paradise for flora lovers.

    • Lummum Waterfalls.

    • Nag Mandir.

  • Evening free to relax.

  • Overnight stay in Dirang.


Day 3: Dirang – Sangti Valley – Tawang
  • After breakfast, visit Sangti Valley, a scenic valley surrounded by the Eastern Himalayas, known for its forests, rivers, and black-necked cranes (seasonal).

  • Drive to Tawang (11,500 ft).

  • En route visit:

    • The picturesque Sella Lake and cross the Sella Pass (13,746 ft).

    • Jaswantgarh War Memorial, dedicated to Jaswant Singh Rawat who bravely fought the Chinese army during the 1962 war.

  • Reach Tawang by evening.

  • Overnight stay in Tawang.


Day 4: Tawang Sightseeing (Border Excursion)
  • After breakfast, proceed for an excursion to the Indo-China border (subject to permit & local vehicle hire).

  • En route visit:

    • PTSo Lake – a stunning high-altitude lake.

    • Sangetsar Lake (Madhuri Lake) – made famous after the shooting of the Bollywood film Koyla.

  • Return to Tawang.

  • Overnight stay in Tawang.


Day 5: Tawang Local Sightseeing
  • After breakfast, explore Tawang’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage:

    • Tawang Monastery – the iconic Gaden Namgyal Lhatse, founded in 1680 and one of the largest monasteries in India.

    • Urgelling Monastery – birthplace of the Sixth Dalai Lama.

    • Giant Buddha Statue.

    • Khinmay Monastery.

  • Evening: Enjoy the Light & Sound Show at Tawang War Memorial, dedicated to martyrs of the Indo-China war.

  • Overnight stay in Tawang.


Day 6: Tawang – Bomdila
  • After breakfast, drive to Bomdila.

  • En route visit:

    • Jung (Nuranang) Waterfalls – one of Arunachal’s most beautiful waterfalls.

    • Bomdila View Point.

    • Bomdila Monastery.

  • Evening free to stroll around the local market for souvenirs and handicrafts.

  • Overnight stay in Bomdila.


Day 7: Bomdila – Guwahati via Kalaktang
  • After breakfast, check out and drive back to Guwahati.

  • En route visit:

    • Chillipam Monastery, surrounded by scenic landscapes.

    • A glimpse of the Bhutan Border.

  • Continue your drive and reach Guwahati by evening.

  • Drop at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station for onward journey.
