Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati – Transfer to Shillong

• Arrive at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station.

• Visit the sacred Maa Kamakhya Temple on Nilachal Hills, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas.

• Drive towards Shillong (approx. 3–4 hrs).

• En route, stop at the picturesque Umiam Lake (Barapani) surrounded by pine forests.

• Evening leisure in Shillong.

• Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 2: Excursion to Dawki & Mawlynnong – Return to Shillong

• After breakfast, drive to Dawki, famous for the crystal-clear Umngot River (boating experience).

• Continue to Mawlynnong Village – Asia’s cleanest village.

  • Visit the Living Root Bridge (Single Decker).

  • Explore the Balancing Rock.

  • Climb the Sky View Bamboo Tower for panoramic views of Bangladesh plains.

• On return, visit Shillong Peak for a bird’s-eye view of the city.

• Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 3: Shillong – Laitlum Canyons & City Tour

• After breakfast, excursion to the scenic Laitlum Canyons, known as the Grand Canyon of the East.

• Later, explore Shillong city attractions:

  • Ward’s Lake (boating & garden walks).

  • Don Bosco Museum (culture & heritage of Northeast India).

  • St. Cathedral Church.

  • Police Bazaar for shopping & street vibes.

• Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 4: Shillong – Excursion to Cherrapunji

• After breakfast, drive to Cherrapunji (Sohra), one of the wettest places on Earth.

• En route, visit Elephant Falls.

• Full-day sightseeing at Cherrapunji:

  • Mawkdok Dympep Valley Viewpoint.

  • Garden of Caves.

  • Wah Kaba Falls, Dainthlen Falls & Wei Sawdong Falls.

  • Arwah Cave (fossils & limestone formations).

  • Nohkalikai Falls – tallest plunge waterfall in India.

  • Mawsmai Caves & Eco Park.

  • Seven Sisters Falls.

• Evening leisure in Cherrapunji.

• Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.

Day 5: Cherrapunji Local Exploration

• After breakfast, continue exploring the natural wonders of Cherrapunji:

  • Double Decker Living Root Bridge (requires trekking; optional).

  • Thangkharang Park for panoramic views of Bangladesh plains.

  • Khoh Ramhah (Giant Rock / Basket of the Giant).

  • Additional caves & waterfalls based on season and time.

• Evening at leisure.

• Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.

Day 6: Cherrapunji – Departure via Guwahati

• After breakfast, drive back to Guwahati (approx. 5–6 hrs).

• En route, optional halt at Maha Mrityunjay Temple (Nagaon) – home to the tallest Shiva Linga (126 ft).

• Transfer to Guwahati Airport / Railway Station for onward journey.
